2007 Dec 15-16 Snowstorm Hits Ontario & Eastern Canada

The storm that hit on Sun-Dec16 2007 didn't break the all time record of 28 cm in 24 hours set on December 11, 1944, but we came close.

For a lot of people who woke up to thigh-high drifts, this weekend was the snowstorm of the century. A ferocious blizzard has dumped snow across Ontario and Quebec, creating hazardous driving conditions, grounding planes, and hundreds of passengers have turned a Halifax airport into a temporary hotel after a massive storm forced the cancellation of dozens of flights, stranding some travellers for more than 24 hours.

By late Sunday night, anywhere from 30 to 60 cm of snow had been dumped on Canada's most populous corridor between Windsor, Ontario, Ottawa and Montreal.
